Bud Ray and grandparents

This is Bud, and Bob and Jenny Ray ,my grandparents. Made about 1942 in Henry County near Cottage Grove Tennessee. 11 years later in 1953 death came and we lost both of those fine people. She died in the spring, and he in the Autumn.

This is my Mother's dad. He was my Idol and I still miss him. He always had a great garden. I think that's where I got my ability to grow good things to eat!
We called him "Pappy".

My Dad hated Herbert Hoover, because of a speech he heard him make on the radio. Hoover stated that all the working man needed was a dollar a day and a pair of overalls! That caused a lot of people to feel that way!

Cudzoo vines are the vines that ate up the southland. I drove by on a visit about 1960 and took this picture of my old home place.
